As Undersheriff Jordan was responsible for the command of all divisions including finance, human resources, dispatch, 9-11, patrol, detectives, narcotics, detention, court security, accreditation, technical support, fleet maintenance, swat, aviation, recovery dive team, marine unit, emergency management, records, civil process and warrants, evidence, forensic services, and served as legal counsel for the Sheriffs Office.

1985-1997 Assistant State Attorney 6th Judicial circuit Florida
Jordan was assigned and successfully prosecuted a wide range of crimes ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. He took approximately 160 felony cases to trial. He supervised the habitual offender unit of the Dade City division of the State Attorneys Office and was second in command of that office. He also took to trial one of the first cases in Florida using DNA evidence. He has prosecuted numerous capital murder cases.

Jordan was a field training officer and was a trained traffic homicide
investigator. He was assigned to the patrol division for 5 and one half years.

1975-1977 Reserve Officer, St. Petersburg Police Department, FL
Jordan was a reserve officer after graduating from the auxiliary police academy and he volunteered approximate 1000 hours a year as a patrol officer.

1972-1975 U.S A.F law enforcement Officer.

Jordan was a law enforcement specialist in the U.S.A.F. While assigned to National China he was assigned to serve with the Foreign Affairs Military Police. He performed town patrol duties with the Chinese Military Police.
